Product Introduction:
Sodium acetate (NaAc) is also known as sodium acetate. The solid is colorless transparent crystal or white particles. Trihydrate at room temperature, crystal water is lost at 120 degrees, and the relative density is 1.45 (trihydrate). Molecular weight 136.08 (trihydrate); Among them, 0.1g sodium acetate trihydrate can be dissolved in 0.8mL water, 0.6mL boiling water, 19mL ethanol.
This product is 3M sodium acetate solution, pH 5.2.
Preparation method:
Preparation of 3M sodium acetate (pH=5.2) : Dissolve 408.1g sodium acetate trihydrate in 800mL water, adjust the pH value to 5.2 with ice acetic acid, add water to a fixed volume to 1L.
Purpose:
Sodium acetate can be used to determine lead, copper, nickel and iron, and is also a commonly used buffer. In nucleic acid extraction, adding sodium acetate buffer can adjust the concentration of salt ions, neutralize the negative charge of nucleic acid molecules, and facilitate the precipitation of DNA after adding ethanol.
