Product Introduction:
The purpose of fixation is to preserve the original morphology and structure of cells and tissues. Fixatives prevent the autolysis of endogenous lysosomal enzymes on their own tissues and cells, and inhibit the growth of bacteria and molds. Fixatives can inactivate enzymes by changing the internal structure of proteins through coagulation, generation of added compounds, and so on. Fixatives are divided into aldehyde fixative, mercury fixative, alcohol fixative, oxidant fixative, picrate fixative, etc. The more commonly used ones are formalin in aldehydes and ethanol in alcohols.
Millonig buffered formalin (10%) is mainly made of a mixture of formaldehyde, dihydrogen phosphate, adjusted to pH 7.2-7.4, this fixative is more suitable for the protection of ultrastructures.
