1. Direct action on viral nucleic acid, maintain immunogenicity, strong inactivation effect. β-propanolactone (BPL) directly interacts with viral nucleic acids, but does not act on shell proteins, and does not destroy the immunogenicity of pathogens.

Although large dose β-propanolactone (BPL) is a carcinogen, it is easily hydrolyzed and disappears after 2h hydrolysis in 37℃ water bath, and it is hydrolyzed to non-toxic human fat metabolite β-hydroxypropionic acid.
