Product Description: This reagent is light yellow transparent liquid, with pungent odor, the upper layer is Tris hydrochloric acid buffer, pH>7.8, the lower layer is phenol phase, and the antioxidant 8-hydroxyquinoline is added. This product is suitable for isolating DNA.

Usage: Tissue cracking solution, ensure that the pH is about 8.0 (0.1 volume of 1M Tris-HCl can be added, pH8.0, adjust it to about 8.0), and then add 0.5 volume of DNA phenol extraction reagent (stand when using, take the lower phenol phase for use. The upper layer is Tris-HCl solution, which is to prevent the phenol from contact with the air to slow the oxidation of the phenol), 0.5 volume of chloroform: isoamyl alcohol (24∶1), and ice bath for 15 minutes after shaking for 10s. After centrifugation, take water phase (upper layer) and add equal volume of isopropyl alcohol to precipitate DNA, rinse with 75% ethanol once, slightly dry and dissolve in appropriate amount of TE for use.

Note: DNA extraction phenol reagent has strong corrosive, should try to avoid skin contact or inhalation in the body. If it is found to be red or brown, it indicates that oxidation has occurred and cannot be continued.
