Product Introduction:
Doxorubicin, an anthracycline antibiotic, inhibits the synthesis of DNA and RNA in mammals and is also a very potent antitumor agent (1,2). Doxorubicin binds to nucleic acids by embedding DNA double helices and stable topoisomerase II cleavage complexes, resulting in strand breakage of DNA at specific doxorubicin induced sites (3). In human breast cancer cells (MCF7), doxorubicin inhibits DNA synthesis in a dose-dependent manner, consistent with growth inhibition (4). The researchers also found that doxorubicin can effectively inhibit human DNA topoisomerase I (5).
Doxorubicin provided is freeze-dried powder. For a 10 mM concentration storage solution, 860 μl DMSO was added to 5mg of freeze-dried powder. The working concentration and treatment time are determined according to the desired effect, generally 0.1-5μM, for 12-24 hours of treatment.
Use and synthesis method:
Antitumor antibiotic, has doxorubicin effect on cardiac mitochondrial DNA. Inhibitor of reverse phase transcriptase and RNA polymerase, immunosuppressant; It can be inserted into a DNA strand.
Solubility:
Soluble in DMSO (100 mg/ml) and slightly hot water (10 mg/ml), insoluble in ethanol.
Note :
(1) For cell experiments, after dissolution, disposable needle filter must be used to remove bacteria.
(2) For your safety and health, please wear a lab coat and wear disposable gloves.
