Folinol is used for determination of protein content, color reaction of protein, determination of concentration.
Amino acids containing phenols (such as tyrosine, tryptophan, etc.) in protein molecules react with folinol to form a dark blue complex, and the depth of blue is proportional to the protein content.
Folinol is suitable for total protein quantification by Lowry method, and the reagent concentration is 2mol/L
