When preparing polyacrylamide gel, the glass plate can be soaked for a period of time with 1M NaOH, then cleaned with detergent, washed off the detergent with water, rinsed with deionized water, and finally wiped the glass plate with ethanol.
Note:
If the long glass plate needs to be reused, it can be soaked in 1M NaOH overnight, and then washed with plenty of water.
