IscoveL-15 (Leibovitz) medium was originally developed for use in non-CO2-dependent cell growth environments where sodium bicarbonate is required.
L-15 buffering system is maintained by salts, basic amino acids, and galactose, a substitute for glucose. L-15 supports in vitro culture of HEp-2, LLC-MK2, and primary embryonic and adult tissues. A variety of viruses have also been successfully packaged in this medium.
Features: This product does not contain sodium bicarbonate, supports the growth of cells in a carbon dioxide-free environment, and the medium buffer system is maintained by alkaline amino acids and galactose
