Product Introduction:

Gentamicin (Gentamicin) is a Chinese scientist Wang Yue invented a very good heat stable aminoglycoside antibiotic. The principle of gentamicin's action is that it binds to the L6 protein of the bacterial ribosome subunit and inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. Clinically, it is mainly used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, especially for gram-negative bacteria.

Gentamicin sulfate salt is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic that works well against a large number of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, including some β-lactam sensitive vancomycin resistant (VRE) enterococcus, and some superbugs that are resistant to glycopeptide antibiotics. The bacteriostatic mechanism is that by binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, codon errors are caused, and the transport of peptidyl-trNA from the A site to the P site is blocked, thus inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial proteins.

Use and synthesis method:

Gentamicin sulfate is widely used in the laboratory:

1) Microbiology research, often used in drug sensitivity tests to screen sensitive bacteria;

2) Inhibiting bacterial contamination in cell culture with an effective concentration of 0.5-50 μg/mL;

3) Molecular biology studies, commonly used to selectively screen positive clones carrying gentamicin resistance genes, usually using a concentration of 15μg/ml.
