Cyclamate, white needle, sheet crystalline or crystalline powder. No smell. The taste is sweet and its dilute solution is about 30 times sweeter than sucrose. It is 40 to 50 times sweeter than sucrose and is a nutrient-free sweetener. The 10% aqueous solution was neutral (PH 6.5) and stable to heat, light and air. Slightly bitter after heating. The decomposition temperature was about 280 ℃, and no caramelization reaction occurred. It is decomposed slightly in acidic environment and stable in alkaline environment. "It is soluble in water (1g/5ml) and propylene glycol (1g/5ml) and virtually insoluble in ethanol, ether, benzene, and chloroform." When its concentration is greater than 0.4%, it has a bitter taste, and it is dissolved in water with a high content of nitrite and sulfite, producing an odor like oil or rubber.
