Product Introduction:
Principle: Penicillin antibiotics are a general term for a large class of antibiotics in the beta-lactam class. It has a narrow antibacterial spectrum and is mainly effective against gram-positive bacteria. Penicillin has the advantages of strong antibacterial action, high efficacy and low toxicity, so it is still widely used. Penicillin is an organic acid that can be combined with a variety of metals to form salts, usually sodium or potassium salts. Penicillin can be chemically cleaved to form 6-APA (6-aminopicillanic acid), which is an intermediate of various semi-synthetic penicillins.
Description:
Penicillin is mainly effective against gram-positive bacteria, acts on the cell wall of bacteria, and is less toxic to humans. The recommended working concentration is100 U/ml.
Use:
Biochemical research; Preparation of medium; Antibiotics.Use and synthesis method:
Configuration: For cell culture, the recommended working concentration of penicillin in cell culture is 100U/ml. Penicillin G sodium salt was dissolved in deionized water or PBS, the bacteria were removed by 0.22μm filter, and the concentrated solution was stored at -20℃.
In the medium can prevent bacterial contamination. Commonly used is green streptomycin, commonly known as double antibody solution. Penicillin is mainly effective against gram-positive bacteria, and streptomycin is mainly effective against Gram-negative bacteria. Adding these two antibiotics prevents the vast majority of bacterial contamination. The double antibody is useful for bacteria and is effective for one week when added to the medium, after which it is deactivated. If the cultivation conditions are good, you can not add. It is recommended that drug experiments do not add double antibody, because it has a little effect on cell morphology and metabolism.
