Application: determination of water hardness and calcium, magnesium, barium, lead, mercury, zinc. Organic synthesis, manufacture of various metal salts of palmitate and water repellent (for reference only).

It can easily soluble in hot ethanol, diethyl ether, propanol, acetone, benzene and chloroform, slightly soluble in cold ethanol and petroleum ether, insoluble in water; Relative density (d624)0.853; Melting point 63-64 ℃; Boiling point 351.5℃; Refractive index (n80D)1.4273; Flash point 206℃; It's irritating.
