Magnesium is a cofactor of many enzymes, which is present in soft tissue and bone, and the distribution of the two is roughly equal. Its metabolic mechanism is still unclear. Increased magnesium can lead to decreased muscle tone, and decreased magnesium is seen in hypoparathyroidism, chronic renal failure and so on.
The kit is the use of magnesium ions in the solution under alkaline conditions can combine with calcium and magnesium reagents to form a purplish red complex, the depth of color is proportional to the concentration of magnesium ions, through the microplate detector to detect the absorbance at 510nm, according to the formula to calculate the magnesium content, the solution contains calcium ion chelator EGTA can eliminate the interference of calcium. The use of surfactants allows the protein colloids to be stabilized, and magnesium is measured directly without removing serum proteins.
