Product introduction
porphobilnogen (PBG) is also urobilinogen or porphyrobilinogen, which can react with dimethylaminobenzaldehyde under acidic conditions to form red aldehydes of porphobilnogen. PBG and indole compounds can interfere with this process, but the red aldehydes of PBG can be dissolved in chloroform or n-butanol. Other aldehyde-reactive substances can also be removed by n-butanol extraction.
The kit is composed of p-dimethylaminobenaldehyde and sodium acetate. Its detection principle is that Ehrlich's reagent reacts with uroporophyinogen under acidic conditions to form red aldehyde compound. The sensitivity of the kit can reach 60mg/L, and it is mainly used for qualitative detection of uroporophyinogen in human and animal urine.
