Product introduction
Calcium (Calcium) is a metallic element, at room temperature as a silver-white crystal, animal bones, clam shells, eggshells contain calcium carbonate. The detection of calcium content in living body is mainly through the detection of calcium ion concentration, which is commonly detected by spectrophotometry. This method requires suitable metal indicators or dye compounds that selectively combine with calcium ions and cause color change. At present, the commonly used dyes include o-cresolphthalide complex ketone (OCPC), azo arsenic Ⅲ, methyl thymol blue (MTB), etc.
The kit uses calcium ions in solution to combine with MTB under alkaline conditions to form a navy/blue complex. Magnesium ion chelator is added to remove magnesium ion background interference. The absorbance at 610nm is detected by microplate detector, and the total calcium content is calculated according to the formula.
