Product Introduction:
Di-8-ANEPES belong to the ANEP dye family and can be used to measure rapid membrane potential changes. ANEP dyes are a class of dyes that can quickly respond to changes in membrane potential, and their optical reactions can quickly detect changes in transient transmembrane potential in cells, which can prove that the membrane potential depends on the conversion of excitation spectra. This characteristic can be used to detect the change of membrane potential by changing the excitation rate. ANEP dyes have weak fluorescence in aqueous environments, which can be converted to intense fluorescence in lipid environments (e.g., cell membranes). Manipulation of the rapid-reaction probes produces their fluorescence properties by altering their electronic structures to accommodate changes in the surrounding electric field. Their optical responses enable rapid detection of millisecond transmembrane potential changes in excitable cells, such as single neurons, cardiomyocytes, and intact brains. Because of its sulfonated group, Di-8-ANEPPS is less subject to cellular internalization than other ANEPP dyes and is more lipophilic, making it more suitable for long-term membrane potential studies. In addition, Di-8-ANEPPS showed higher photostability and lower photosensitivity than Di-4-ANEPPS.
Precaution:
1. All fluorescent dyes have quenching problems, please try to avoid light to slow down the fluorescence quenching.
2. For your safety and health, please wear a laboratory coat and wear disposable gloves to operate.
