Betaine, an alkaloid with a chemical structure similar to amino acids, is a quaternary ammonium base substance, and in the PCR reaction system, betaine can prevent the activity of Taq enzyme from decreasing during high temperature denaturation.

This product is an aqueous solution with a concentration of 5M betaine, which can be directly added to the PCR reaction or sequencing reaction to improve amplification or sequencing efficiency. Its detailed uses include:

1. Reduce the possibility of secondary structure formation of GC-rich templates, and facilitate PCR amplification and sequencing of GC-rich templates;

2. Reduce the dependence of denaturation temperature on base;

3. Improve the amplification efficiency of LA-PCR;

4. Improve the stability of Taq DNA polymerase.
