AMCA is a blue fluorescent dye that is excited at 365nm. It has strong photostability, and its fluorescence is not affected by pH in the range of 4 to 10.
AMCA, also known as 7-AMCA, is an abbreviation for 7-Amino-4 methylcoumarin acetate, which is a commonly used coumarin dye that emits blue fluorescence. The advantages of AMCA include small molecular weight, simple structure, and large Stokes shift. AMCA is often used in multi-color fluorescence labeling experiments and can be combined with many dyes because its fluorescence emission spectrum overlaps less with commonly used green fluorescent dyes and longer wavelength dyes, resulting in minimal interference. Additionally, it should be pointed out that the fluorescence of AMCA is not very strong (blue fluorescence permeability), and it is prone to photobleaching, making it unsuitable for detecting targets with low abundance.
