Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is a characteristic component of the cell wall of Gram-negative bacteria. LPS and its lipid A part stimulate innate immune system cells through toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), a member of the toll-like receptor protein family that recognizes common pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMP). The product was extracted from phenol of E. coli serotype O127: B8. The source strain was ATCC 12740. RNA content:< 1%
