Wisteria Floribunda Lectin (WFA, WFL), Biotinylated

The binding specificity of Wisteria multiflorum lectin (WFL) is not fully understood, but the lectin appears to preferentially bind to the carbohydrate structure of n-acetylgalactosamine, which is attached to the alpha or beta of the 3 or 6 position of galactose. This lectin has been used to separate lymphocyte populations, and although it is not mitotic, it can cause lymphokine production in mouse spleen cells. Biotinylated WFL has the right amount of biotin to provide the best staining properties for this lectin. The conjugated compound contains essentially no unconjugated biotin and is preserved with sodium azide
