The lectin binds oligomers of n-acetylglucosamine and some bacterial cell wall oligosaccharides containing n-acetylglucosamine and n-acetyl-cell wall oligosaccharides. Its carbohydrate binding specificity is similar to that of wheat germ lectin and datura lectin
