Vicia Villosa Lectin (VVL, VVA), Biotinylated
Storage:Short-term storage at 2-8℃;long-term storage at -20℃
VVL preferentially recognizes α- or β-linked terminal N-acetylgalactosamine, especially individual α-N-acetylgalactosamine residues linked to serine or threonine in polypeptides (Tn antigens). There is evidence that such lectins may also require specific amino acid sequences at glycosylated receptor sites. Disaccharide galactosyl (alpha-1,3) n-acetylgalactosamine is also a potent inhibitor of this lectin. Biotinylated Vicia villosa lectin has the right amount of biotin to provide the best staining properties for this lectin. The conjugated compound contains essentially no unconjugated biotin and is preserved with sodium azide
