Amylopectin - iodine complexes also form, which reduce the concentration of free iodine measured by non-colorimetric methods and may be absorbed at wavelengths similar to those of amylopectin - iodine complexes in colorimetric methods. In this kit, concanavin A is separated by the characteristic that it only binds to amylopectin but not amylose. Then, the enzyme complex that only hydrolyzes starch is used to hydrolyze starch to glucose. The content of amylose, branched chain and total starch is obtained by detecting the content of glucose.

Precautions

Different reagents are stored in different temperature environments according to regulations; Dimethyl sulfoxide acts as a skin irritant and should therefore be used with caution. It is absorbed through the skin and can cause skin and eye irritation.
