Product Introduction
Attenuated serum RPMI 1640 medium is commonly used in attenuated mammalian cell cultures and contains phenol red and is free of L-glutamine and HEPES. Compared with classical DMEM, this formula can reduce the amount of serum by more than 50%, and does not affect the cell growth rate and morphology, thus extending the time of use of the same batch of serum, and reduce the fluctuation of culture conditions, but also reduce the infection and transmission of pathogens, thereby improving the purity and reliability of cell culture. The medium can be used for HeLa cells, Jurkat cells, MCF-7 cells, PC12 cells, PBMC cells, astrocytes and cancer cells without domestication. Compared to other media, RPMI 1640 medium contains the reducing agents glutathione and biotin and a high concentration of vitamins such as vitamin B12 and PABA.
Instructions for Use
RPMI1640 medium is free of proteins, lipids and growth factors. Therefore, RPMI1640 medium usually requires the addition of 1% to 5% fetal bovine serum (FBS) when used.
