Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium (DMEM) is based on Basal Medium Eagle (BME). The concentration of amino acids is four times that of BME, and according to the concentration of glucose, DMEM is divided into two categories: high sugar (4500mg/L) and low sugar (1000mg/L). Compared with BME, DMEM contains a variety of additives. DMEM was first seen in mouse embryonic cell culture, and various modified forms have been widely used in the culture of primary cells, non-transformed cells, and transformed cells. The difference between various DMEMs is mainly L-glutamine (L-glutamine), sodium pyruvate (sodium pyruvate) and whether it contains phenol red (phenol red). This product contains 4500 mg/L glucose, L-glutamine, sodium pyruvate and 25 mM HEPES; Free of phenol red, used in cell experiments related to hormones.
