Initially used in combination with RPMI 1640 and Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), ITS-G solutions are now commonly used in combination with other base medium to support multiple cell types in the presence of 2-4% FBS. ITS is formulated in Earle Balanced Salt Solution (EBSS).
