Pentamidine is a potent and selective inhibitor of protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTPases) and regenerative liver phosphatase (PRL). Pentamidine can be used in the study of Gambian trypanosomiasis, antiantimony leishmaniasis and pneumocystis carinii pneumonia. |
