Nonionic surfactant, non-hemolytic, enzyme compatible, is a good wetting agent and defoamer alkyne glycol ethoxy compound, HLB=17, high hydrophilicity, low surface tension, slight emulsification, FDA and EPA standards, solvent and APE free.
Surfynol 485 is a Gemini nonionic surfactant based on alkyne glycol technology, which is prepared by adding 85wt% ethylene oxide to Surfynol 104. Surfynol 485 is generally used as a wetting agent to reduce the dynamic and static surface tension of the system.
This surfactant is gentle on red blood cells and can adsorb or filter red blood cells. Both surfactants, either alone or in combination with other surfactants, improve the stability of latex suspensions. Their low foaming and high wetting properties allow the material to be evenly coated on the membrane. Surfybnot 485 has a higher hydrophilic-hydrophobic equilibrium coefficient, and Surfynol 465 has a slightly lower surface tension than Surfybnot 485, both of which have a solubility of >1% in water.
