Nuclear Fast Red

Nuclear Fast Red is an anthraquinone dye that is commonly used as a red nuclear counterstain with excess aluminum ions. Studies have shown that nucleofixion red can be used for histochemical staining of calcium and as a highly sensitive "off/on" fluorescent probe for the detection of guanine.
