Cy5 dye has been used to label biomolecules, fluorescence imaging, and other fluorescence-based biochemical assays. They are widely used to label peptides, proteins, and oligonucleotides, among others. Cy5 dye is one of the common red fluorophores. These versatile fluorophores can tolerate a pH range of 3-10 and are used in a variety of applications with biologically relevant pH. The dye is also DMSO tolerant and photostable, enabling transfer from storage to analysis without loss of performance. Water solubility meets the needs of organic solvents in the assay buffer. Our Cy5 dyes are QC tested to ensure high levels of chromophores and reactive dye content. Single-reactive dyes are suitable for targeting and labeling proteins and oligonucleotides, while dual-reactive dyes are more suitable for general labeling. It is recommended to label the amine groups with NHS ester dyes and the thiol groups with maleimide dyes. This Cy5 azide selectively reacts with an alkyne group.
Remark:These protocols are for reference only. Solarbio does not independently validate these methods.
