Principle:
Yeast infusion, tyropeptone and liver infusion provide nitrogen sources, vitamins and growth factors; Glucose, maltose and fructose provide carbon sources; Potassium phosphate dibasic is used as a buffer; Ammonium citrate, magnesium sulfate, manganese sulfate,Tween-80 and N-acetylglucosamine provide growth factors for the cultivation of various lactic acid bacteria; The low pH of this medium inhibits the growth of other bacteria and is conducive to the isolation of lactobacilli. Agar is a coagulant of the culture medium. To increase selectivity,2-phenylethanol and cycloheximide can be added, which can inhibit gram-negative bacteria and yeasts.
