Background | SK-OV-3 cells were isolated by G.Trempe and L.J.Old in 1973 from ascites of patients with ovarian tumors.SK-OV-3 cells are tolerant to tumor necrosis factor and several cytotoxic drugs including diphtheria toxin, cisplatin and doxorubicin.SK-OV-3 cells were tumorigenic in nude mice and formed moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma consistent with ovarian carcinoma in situ. |
