Cy5 dye has been used to label biomolecules for fluorescence imaging and other fluorescence-based biochemical assays. They are widely used to label peptides，proteins，and oligonucleotides，among others. Cy5? dye is one of the common red fluorophores. These versatile fluorophores can tolerate a pH range of 3-10 and are used in a variety of applications with biologically relevant pH. The dye is also DMSO tolerant and photostable，enabling transfer from storage to analysis without loss of performance. Single-reactive dyes are suitable for targeted labeling of proteins and oligonucleotides，while dual-reactive dyes are more suitable for general labeling. It is recommended to label the amine groups with NHS ester dyes and maleimide dyes to label the thiol groups.
