Anthocyanine dyes have been used to label biomolecules as well as fluorescence imaging and other fluorescence-based biochemical assays. They are widely used to label peptides，proteins，and oligonucleotides，among others. Cy3 dye is one of the common red fluorophores. These versatile fluorophores can tolerate a pH range of 3-10 and are used in a variety of applications at biologically relevant pH. These dyes are also resistant to DMSO and are photostable to transfer from storage to analysis without loss of performance. The need for organic solvents in water-soluble assay buffers.
