This product is identical to GE's monoreactive Cy5NHS ester. It reacts easily with amino groups. Single reactive dyes are suitable for targeting and labeling proteins and oligonucleotides, while double reactive dyes are more suitable for general labeling. It is recommended to label the amine groups with NHS ester dyes and maleimide dyes to label the thiol groups. Various cyanine 5 (Cy5) dyes have been used to label biomolecules for fluorescence imaging and other fluorescence-based biochemical assays. They are widely used to label peptides, proteins, and oligonucleotides, among others. Cy5 dye is one of the common red fluorophores. These versatile fluorophores can tolerate a pH range of 3-10 and are used in a variety of applications with biologically relevant pH. The dye is also DMSO tolerant and photostable, enabling transfer from storage to analysis without loss of performance.
Remark:These protocols are for reference only. Solarbio does not independently validate these methods.
