This Cy3 dye is identical to GE's Cy3NHS ester. Cy3NHS ester reacts easily with amino groups. Various cyanine 3 (Cy3) dyes have been used to label biomolecules for fluorescence imaging and other fluorescence-based biochemical assays. They are widely used to label peptides，proteins，and oligonucleotides，among others. The fluorescence of the Cy3 dye increases substantially after binding to proteins.
