5(6)-TMR C6 maleimide is a very good alternative reagent to tetramethylrhodamine-5(6)-maleimide. It selectively reacts with peptides，proteins，and other biomolecules containing thiol groups (e.g.，thiol-modified oligonucleotides and thiol-containing organic molecules). Under similar conjugation conditions，it forms stronger conjugates than tetramethylrhodamine-5(6)-maleimide. The spectral characteristics of 5(6)-TMR C6 maleimide are the same as those of tetramethylrhodamine-5(6)-maleimide. Therefore，all conjugated systems formed by tetramethylrhodamine-5(6)-maleimide can be achieved with 5(6)-TMR C6 maleimide.
