6-TAMRA C6 maleimide is an alternative reagent to tetramethylrhodamine-6-maleimide. It reacts selectively with peptides，proteins，and other biomolecules containing thiol groups (e.g.，thiol-modified oligonucleotides and thiol-containing organic molecules). Under similar conjugation conditions，it forms a stronger conjugate than the one formed by tetramethylrhodamine-6-maleimide. The spectral characteristics of 6-TMR C6 maleimide are the same as those of tetramethylrhodamine-6-maleimide. Therefore，all the conjugated systems formed by tetramethylrhodamine-6-maleimide can be realized with 6-TMR C6 maleimide.
