It has the same spectral properties as Texas Red,but it binds more easily to biofilms, with higher conjugation yields. It can be used to generate bright red fluorescent bioconjugates with excitation/emission large values of 595/615nm. In contrast to TexasRed,the reactive dye contains an additional seven atomic aminohexanoyl spacer groups (X) between the fluorophore and the succinimidyl ester group. This spacer helps to separate the fluorophore from its junction point, potentially reducing the interaction of the fluorophore with its conjugated biomolecule.
