Sulforodamine 101 sulfonyl chloride is the most widely used sulfonyl chloride labeling reagent，and it is unstable in water，especially at high pH conditions，and reacts with fatty amines. It modifies proteins often at low temperatures (e.g.，at 4°C). Sulforodamine 101 sulfonyl chloride reacts with amino compounds such as amino acids，peptides，and proteins to produce a strong red fluorescent conjugate that is very stable. Unlike succinimidyl esters，sulfonyl chloride reacts indifferently with aliphatic amines and aromatic amines.
