IN FRET-BASED PROBES，EDANS ARE TYPICALLY PAIRED WITH DABCYL OR DABSYL. Its fluorescence is sensitive to the environment. EDANS C5 maleimide is a thiol-reactive EDANS derivative. It is water-soluble and has the same spectral properties as EDANS.
