Oxaliplatin, also known as lesadine and oxaliplatin, belongs to platinum derivatives. Its principle of action is to inhibit DNA synthesis and replication by producing alkylation conjugates that act on DNA and form intra-strand and inter-strand cross-links. It also inhibited the proliferation of ovarian cancer and melanoma cell lines.
