Description:
Macrolide antibiotics. Immunosuppressant for biochemical research.
Use and synthesis method:
Scientific research reagent, widely used in molecular biology, pharmacology and other scientific research. At the molecular level, its action appears to be mediated by the cytoplasmic protein FKBP12 to which it binds. FKEP12 allows this product to enter the cell and form a complex that competitively binds specifically to calmodulin and inhibits calmodulin, which mediates an intracellular calcium-dependent inhibitory signaling system that prevents transcription of a range of lymphokine genes.
Action: In vivo and in vitro experiments proved that this product is a powerful immunosuppressive agent. It inhibits the formation of cytotoxic lymphocytes, which are the main cause of transplant rejection. The drug inhibits T cell activation and Th-cell-dependent B cell proliferation, as well as the production of lymphokines such as interleukin-2, interleukin-3, and beta-interferon, and the expression of the interleukin-2 receptor.
Solubility:
Soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, chloroform or ether, insoluble in hexane or petroleum ether, insoluble in water.
Storage conditions: -20° C, avoid light, moisture, sealed and dry.
