Physical properties
Odorless, sweet taste salty, soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in acetone, almost insoluble in ether, chloroform, benzene. The pH of 2% aqueous solution was 6.5-8. The aqueous solution is easy to decarbon into m-aminophenol, so it should be prepared fresh when used.
