BCA is the disodium salt of 2,2’-Biquinoline-4,4’-dicarboxylic acid, which can be used for the analysis and determination of copper and protein. Under alkaline conditions, the protein reduces Cu2+ to Cu+, Cu+ and BCA form a purplish blue complex, the absorption value at 562nm is determined, and compared with the standard curve, the concentration of the protein to be measured can be calculated. The common concentration of descaling agent SDS, Triton X-100, Tween did not affect the detection results, but was affected by chelating agents (EDTA, EGTA), reducing agents (DTT, mercaptoethanol) and lipids.
