Determination significance: β-1,3-GA ( EC 3.2.1.39 ) mainly exists in plants and catalyzes the hydrolysis of β-1,3-glycosidic bonds. It can induce a large number of cells to synthesize β-1,3-GA under plant infection or other stress conditions. Therefore, the determination of β-1,3-GA activity is widely used in plant pathology and stress physiology research.
The determination principle: β-1,3-GA hydrolyzes laminarin, cuts β-1,3-glucosidase bond, produces a reducing end, and calculates its enzyme activity by measuring the rate of reducing sugar production.
Instruments and supplies to be provided : Spectrophotometer, desktop centrifuge, water bath/thermostatic incubator, adjustable pipette, 1mL glass cuvette, mortar/homogenizer/ultrasonic crusher, ice and distilled water.
