pUC19 is a commonly used cloning vector, modified from pBR322, containing anti-ampicillin gene, Lac Z gene and the same polyclonal loci as M13mp18. The structure of the two plasmids is almost identical, except that the polyclonal sites are arranged in opposite directions. The cloned transformed cells of recombinant pUC18/19 can be screened by blue/white spot method. Host bacteria: E.coli DH5α, JM109 and XL1-Blue are recommended as receptor bacteria.
