An affinity chromatography medium for the isolation and purification of lgG, Protein G is a cell wall protein isolated from G Streptococci that binds mammalian IgG through its Fc fragment. Recombinant protein G contains a high affinity binding site, which reduces non-specific adsorption. Protein G and Protein A have the same lgG binding properties, compared with Protein A, Protein G has a stronger binding force for polyclonal antibodies such as cattle, sheep, and horses, and it can also bind rat lgG, human lgG3 and mouse lgG1 well, which is based on a highly cross-linked 4% agar-agar gel. The purification of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies can be performed at relatively high flow rates.
