Nitrocellulose membrane is one of the most widely practical specific transfer media in the world. It is made of 100% pure nitrocellulose material to ensure the highest binding capacity.
Easy to use, compatible with multiple detection methods, compared to PVDF membrane, it doesn't need methanol immersion, which allows those requiring protein transfer in a hydrophilic environment. Before transfer, only simple wetting in water and then place in transfer buffer, without any other prewetting steps.
In addition to the high binding force, the nitrocellulose membrane itself produces a very low background, the unique surface properties guarantee excellent signal-to-noise ratio, and requires no stringent washout conditions during wash.
Nitrocellulose membrane has a variety of pore sizes to choose. The membrane with the corresponding pore size is selected according to different use requirements. The 0.22um nitrocellulose membrane traps the protein molecules with molecular weight less than 20 kD through the small pore size. The 0.45um membrane is ideal for larger molecular proteins and nucleic acids, and 0.1um membranes are often used for proteins with molecular weight less than 7 kD.
The main advantage of the membrane is the molecular recognition activity bound to the membrane for up to 5 years.
