Doxycycline 是一种四环素抗生素，可以特异性地与细菌核糖体30S亚基在A位置结合，从而抑制氨基酰-tRNA在该位置上的联结，阻止肽链的延长；还可以改变细菌细胞膜的通透性，使细胞内的核苷酸及其他重要成分漏出，从而抑制细菌DNA的复制，具有抗菌活性。是广谱的金属蛋白酶 (MMP) 抑制剂
